Vocations Ministry

The Vocations Ministry is specifically tasked with praying for more vocations to the Religious Life and Priesthood and has at its heart the command that Jesus makes in the Gospel of Saint Matthew: “Pray to the master of the harvest to send out workers for the harvest.” (Mt. 9:38)

The Vocations Cross Ministry is currently being offered at the 10am Mass. Prior to Mass on the First Sunday of the month, during the announcements, a new family will receive the Vocations Cross and will receive a blessing from the presiding priest. The sign-up sheet for this ministry is available at the Stewardship table in the Church. Each family who signs up to pray for vocations is asked to pray the Vocations prayer that is included in the blessing throughout the month in which they have the cross in their home. Each family is encouraged to share this ministry with the other families in their neighborhoods as they gather for various events.

This new ministry is an exciting opportunity for our parish to support men and women who are thinking about a religious vocation. Please consider joining this ministry as we pray for more people from Saint Joseph Parish to follow God’s calling in their lives.

Fr. Dan Ponisciak, C.S.C.
Associate Pastor
